The Crime Investigation Department (C.I.D.) of Telangana State organized a Stat-level conference on ‘Anti Human Trafficking’ was organised by the Telangana State Police in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Various issues related to human trafficking like dimensions, concept and legislation, role of civil society -rescue and post rescue efforts, Vikalpa a workable model of Hyderabad city, investigation of anti human trafficking cases, different kinds of victim compensation mechanisms, role of NGOs and collaboration with police in prevention, rescue, and rehabilitation were discussed during the programme in which the DGP M Mahender Reddy also participated. Former DGP, P M Nair, Metropolitan Sessions Judge, N&&;&;amp;&;&;&;amp;&amp;;ally, Venkata Krishnaiah, Rachakonda Police Commissioner, Mahesh Bhagwat, IG, L&amp;O, Women Safety, Swati Lakra, WPC SP Sumathi apart from Sunitha Krishnan from Prajwala NGO, and others participated. Representatives from UNICEF, NGOs like My Choices, Divyadisha, Tharuni, Bachpan Bachao, Sankalp etc were part of the program and material related to the topics was also distributed.
